Van Der Meer Tennis camp is one of the best tennis camps serving the Washington DC metro area. I had a wonderful experience and suggest it to any tennis player.
This is a great camp, the counselors are great and the kids are nice. I feel like after four weeks there I was much better at tennis. I got good instruction from the coaches. I got lots of good match play experience. I was able to play kids from all over the United States.
Van Der Meer is a good camp for tournament players, however, if you are not an advanced player this is not the camp for you. Although, you may still have a good time as a beginner you would be better off going to a local tennis camp.
The drive to Van Der Meer from DC is 3-4 hours but well worth the trip. I got to meet many new people from all over the United States and even Europe! The most fun part of the camp is when all the campers and coaches took part in a doubles tournament.
If you like tennis and are a competitive player Van Der Meer is the place for you. If you are practicing for national competition or just trying to move up the ladder on a high school team you should come to Van Der Meer.
