TIC Camp

by Bobby Jones
(McLean, Virginia)

Can you create a computer game and lose a bunch of calories all in one day? I had an interesting experience at T.I.C. summer camp in 2008. T.I.C. is a camp where you spend half the day with sports, and half the day with technology.

One of my most favorite things I did at T.I.C. was a soccer game called World Cup. The counselors would be the goalies, and we would attempt to score on them first. All of my friends participate in soccer so it was pretty intense.

For the technology part of T.I.C., I did web design with my friend. We created a website with the main theme as Mario because we were really into it at the time. The method we utilized to create websites was with HTML which stands for HyperText Markup Language. It was really fascinating how we had to learn all the codes using >< symbols.

Actually, the thing I liked most about T.I.C. was the variety. A majority of the time, you selected the sport you wanted to play, and we played handball, basketball, volleyball, and multiple others.

Overall, I had a good time at T.I.C. I?m planning to go this year as well to engage in the action.
